Finding my Purpose

Kenzo, my remarkable Boston Terrier, was a fighter from the start. As a puppy, he was diagnosed with a heart murmur and a fused vertebra. A few years later, he developed a dangerous habit of chewing and swallowing his toys, leading to three stomach surgeries and resulting in a shortened digestive tract. The vets weren’t confident he would survive and suggested we put him to sleep. At that point, he was weak, barely eating his prescribed pellets and cans, and limping due to malnutrition and his spinal condition.

Desperate to save him, I threw myself into researching canine nutrition, seeking veterinary advice and guidance from pet nutritionists. I began cooking for him, carefully selecting ingredients to heal his gut and restore his energy. In just a week, he was a different dog—eating, playing, and no longer limping.

After Kenzo’s recovery, friends began asking for help with their dogs, struggling with allergies, ear infections, and chronic digestive issues. Soon, I was cooking meals for multiple dogs and witnessing incredible health transformations. With further guidance from pet nutritionists and certifications from DAFF, Pup Chef was born.

But the truth is, I didn’t rescue him—he rescued me. He gave my life meaning and helped me discover my purpose: helping dogs live healthier, happier lives through nutrition.

I am forever grateful for the legacy he left behind for me and the lessons that he taught me. Thank you, Kenny Joe - my extraordinary dog.

Rest in peace beautiful Kenny Joe.
